I moved to Minnesota in 2009, fell in love with the state, and in 2018, my husband and I chose to make Victoria our home. We love our town of parks and lakes, but lately, I have watched our community change in ways that do not make sense. Between rising taxes, confusing spending, and developments that ignore what residents actually ask for—like parking and a grocery store—it feels like our voices are being left out. The challenge is not whether Victoria will grow, but how we grow. We need a balanced approach that prioritizes fiscal responsibility, smart infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and public safety, all while preserving our small-town charm. The foundation of any town is its people, and right now, our leaders are missing that. I am running because I am fed up with our community being ignored, and I want to put the people first.
To me, real leadership always begins with listening. If you elect me, my first priority will be to hear your concerns, because I believe a true leader must always be a voice for the people of our community. When we look at the future of Victoria and plan for the next fifty years, we have to start with how we manage your hard-earned money. I believe our town should set the bar for fiscal responsibility across the entire state of Minnesota. If you elect me, I will make sure we look at every single dollar in our city budget the exact same way you look at your own household budget. You work hard for your money, and you deserve to know exactly where those dollars are going. I am committed to bringing clear transparency to our local government, ensuring we budget wisely for our long-term future while respecting the taxpayers of this great community.
Right now, we are facing a critical question about the future of Victoria. Much of our beautiful farmland is being developed, and our beloved parks and trails are in urgent need of repair. I believe we must ask ourselves: how do we balance growth while preserving the natural beauty of our home for years to come? We do not want to follow the path of neighboring towns, where farms, parks, and trails have been minimized and lost. If elected, I will work to protect our open spaces and restore our parks and trails. Together, we can ensure that Victoria remains a beautiful community where our natural landscape is cherished and maintained for future generations.
